Study On Designing Of Landscape Plant Space

The designing of landscape plant space is an important part in the field of landscape designing, and playing more and more important in the modern landscape increasingly. The West Lake green space is representative. Because the landscape of planting has brilliance characters, steady structures and can satisfy the relevant functions for fifty years. So it's a good sample for the study.At present, however, most of the researches on designing of landscape plant scape only lay stress on the theoretical aepect, which are short of the extend and deepness. This paper tries to study further on the successful samples famous for designing of landscape plant space in the West Lake green space in Hangzhou. Based on reading some papers and collecting the correlative datas, the 18 samples picked from the West Lake green space are divided into three classes including combinatorial plant space, half open plant space and enveiling plant space. By investigating on the spots, collecting the datas, liquidating and analyzing, comparing the common grounds and individualities, advantages and disadvantages from the samples, this paper brings forward the process and designing method.1. To manage several couples of contrast relations, like diffidence and extroversion, principal and subordinate, fold and unfold, thin and thick, nihility and actual, which are used in the traditional Chinese garden successfully.2. The designing method is comprised of two aspects which are the designing of space structure and designing of space details. The dot, line and the face of the space are the most important elements in the space details designing.Finally, the conclusions are summed up from the following four aspects. They are angle of view with feeling of space, height with vertical sequence, coverage and feeling of surrounding, shape coefficient with space sequence.1. When the ratio of D/H is about 1, the space feels close. When the ratio of D/H is about 2, the space feels comfortable. When the ratio of D/H is about 3, the space feels open. Due to the height of the trees in Hangzhou, the paper suggests the suitable scale of the space is between 200 to 3000 square meters.2. The two types of plant materials whose height is lower than 1.5 meters or between 1.5 to 6 meters are used frequently and rich in the plant resources. In the future designing, it's very important to create the sights below the height of 6 meters, and to use several arbors which are higher than 20 meters to intensify the vertical sequence.3. The coverage of the ground cover is about 85%, unacted on the other two types of plants. The coverage of the shrubs and arbors is about 150%, one growing with another falling. The total coverage of the plants is about 240%. If the evergreen plants take more than 50%, the feeling of surrounding will be better.4. The space sequence is diverse when the number of shape coefficient is big. According to the situation in Hangzhou, this paper suggests that big space's numble is about 2.5, medium space is about 2.0 and small space is about 1.5.The conclusions hereinbefore will be the guidance for the designing of landscape plant.
