| The plant configuration of West Lake is the essence and model of Chinese garden, and the plant communities have been stable more than30years. Furthermore, the plant landscape was improved dramatically owing to the West Lake Comprehensive Protection Project. Taking scenic spots around the West Lake for example, this study analyses and summarizes the common law of plant configuration for reasonably design of plant landscape and further researches.The plant species of11scenic spots were investigated, including Lakeside park, Orioles Singing in the Willows, Bachelor park, Long bridge park in the east and south, and Breeze-Ruffled Lotus at Quyuan Garden, Hangzhou garden, Mao Jiabu, Turtle Lake, Bathing Swan Bay, Viewing Fish at Flower Pond and The prince’s Bay in west, amounting to104families241genera423species. The plant composition is analyzed and excellent plant species are recommended which fit for West Lake.In addition,14cases of plant configurations were picked up for exploring the common rules between plant configuration and landscape effect from the structure and function of community, the composition and establishment of space and the art of plant configuration, which can be classified as waterfront plants landscape, sparse forest grassland and forest landscape. By intuitive perception, classification analysis and quantitative research, the optimal plant configuration mode was suggested to support the high quality plant landscape.Combining with integration and New construction of scenic spots in West Lake comprehensive protection project, plenty of ground cover plants, aquatic plants and flower borders are applied, but many problems were found in the past10years. This study discuses the present situation of plants application, the improper disposition model. And then concludes the proper disposition model depending on different situation and function. |
