| With the economy and market developing, innovation has been the core competitiveness of enterprises and designers, and it becomes a kind of research hotspot in product design field. But the important part of actual product innovation design is the formation of innovation concept, which is not a fancy but need comprehensive ability of information, experience and transformation. Therefore information is a kind of general and important element and as the foundation in innovation design.Based on products, this paper firstly elicited the project by digging out the existing problems from actual cases and present situation. Secondly, according to theory analysis this paper probed into "product innovation design", "pre-design phase", "pre-design information" to clarify prior program and the application of pre-design information in design innovation. Thirdly, analysis and conclusion by documents and experiments founded a completely and scientific pre-design phase information framework, on the basis of which assisting to form a valuable innovation concept, therefore form a way which was helpful for tapping well and formation of innovation. At last, founding on folding plastic chair design scheme, tested the theory and means to a certain extent, and put forward suggestions for next research phase.During product innovation design, the innovation way which in based on pre-design phase information framework exploits information as innovation source and develops innovation concept to boost efficiency and accuracy of designer.
