| In the Knowledge Economy era,China has been actively promoting the transformation of economy and industrial structure.Therefore,innovation has become a driving force for the development of social science and technology.As the “Made in China 2025” is proposed and comprehensively promoted,the market competitions among the enterprisesor countries are getting more intense.Thus,people are more concerning on the protection and utilization of intellectual property.As of today,the patent library is enormous,free and open to the public,it allows enterprises to access anytime and anywhere.This increases the market competitiveness indirectly.Thus,it is necessary for enterprises to carry out patent-related work throughout the product life cycle to avoid the infringement of the patent.Conceptual Design plays a vital role in the product innovation.It is freely,and yet involving a wide range of knowledge.In addition,it has a significant impact on all aspects of product development especially on the late stage.It will continuously attract scholars to make further research on its design methodology.The paper starts with introducing the relevant basic knowledge of the functions,which includes the definition and expression of functions,the design methods of function model and function ontology library.It has also pointed out the shortcomings of some current conceptual design theories.Next,it summarizes the system of TRIZ,which focuses on the corresponding tools and the advantages of TRIZ.Follow by briefly introducing the advantages of GOLDFIRE,one of Computer Aided Innovation(CAI)software.With the combination of TRIZ,CAI software and patent library,a methodology for Conceptual Design is proposed and applied into the product designing process.The usage of patent library in assisting product’s conceptual design can be summarized into two scenarios.First,there are patents directly or highly related to the design goals in patent library and vice versa.For the first case,a methodology of product’s conceptual design based on patent group and TRIZ is proposed.Firstly,a patent group is created according to the design theme.Follow by retrieving the relevant product’s requirement and each patent’s function model.Next,based on the function ontology library,compare the functional requirements and the functions of patented products.Then,the function model of the product to be designed is constructed by selecting and adding the required functions.Next,thefunction-oriented search and other tools of TRIZ are used in designing the function carrier and product’s physical structure.Lastly,determine whether the design scheme and patent group are infringing;For the second scenario/case,a methodology of product’s conceptual design based on CAI technology and TRIZ is proposed.First of all,to complete the designment of product’s function model,the products’ requirements are defined and divided into several sub-demand groups.Then,GOLDFIRE and TRIZ will be used in designing each sub-demand group’s working principle.Next,applying professional knowledge and using the advantage of GOLDFIRE to complete the designment of function carrier and product’s physical structure.Lastly,determine whether the patent is infringing andensure the novelty of the designment.Last but not least,these two methodologies were applied to the project of “Chain Link Fence” production equipment.It solved the problems of practical engineering.At the same time,the effectiveness of the above two methodologies was proved. |
