For saving energy, cutting cost, recycling wastes and preventing environment pollution, this paper analyzes the application features of Small-sized Hollow Fly-ash Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall. Small-sized Hollow Fly-ash Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall is one of new type of structural system. It consists of edge-frame columns and beams embracing block walls which form lateral-load resistant members together. This wall has good lateral-load resistant, loading-bearing and deformation ability which is far different from common block walls. The load-bearing process of Small-sized Hollow Fly-ash Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall is similar to reinforced concrete shear wall, and this system has the greater bearing capacity and lateral stiffness than ordinary masonry. From the results of the test we can draw the following conclusion:According to the formulas of ultimate bearing capacity and bending stiffness of the test, the paper certifies the reliability and practicability through a six-story TianZhi residential building in WuHu . In order to avoid the brittle failure, such as the failure in shear, the project design has considered the depth-width ratio and reinforcement ratio of the outer R.C. frame .Based on the site tracing monitoring of stress of pile head and wall, the outer frame and the inner fly-ash masonry wall of Small-sized Hollow Fly-ash Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall can work together harmoniously as an entirety.Thermal crack problem is the primary factor that hinders the development of concrete small-sized hollow block building. Based on the site tracing monitoring of stress of ring beam and the finite element method, thermal effects of Small-sized Hollow Fly-ash Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall have been considered. The ambient vibration method is employed in measuring frequencies and damping ratios of the TianZhi residential building. Based on the above dynamic test results, the formulas of characteristic period of this structure have been established. Through analyzing the thermal and features of Confined Masonry Composite Shear Wall ,this paper points out that the block is one of the ideal wall materials which can be substituted for solid clay brick as a kind of"green block"and gives good social and economic results.
