The block masonry composite wall system has good performance of earthquake resistance due to mutual confining action between the concrete and block. The pseudo-dynamic test is an experimental technique for simulating the seismic response of structures and the structural components with respect to the time domain. In this technique, the dynamic response of a non-line structure in each step is computed by adopting a step-by-step integration procedure to solve equations of motion. This method has absorbed the merits of quasi-static test and shaking table test. Moreover, has absorbed the merits of structural theory analysis and computation. The pseudo-dynamic test has drawn up the calculation and the experiment ingeniously unifies. Not only it has overcome experimental floor size and the limit problem for bearing capacity in the shaking table test, but also avoids needing the supposition characteristic of restoring force in the computer simulation. It was allowed to simulate the seismic response for large scale structure. Since it has developed successfully, and application in the seismic experiment aspect broadly, it has become the powerful tool in the engineering structure seismic performances research. In the process of pseudo-dynamic test, the composite masonry wall have a big rigidity. The ordinary servo actuator satisfies with the load strength in difficulty. And often uses the hositing jack to load. But it can result in loading time-consuming is long for each step; simultaneity the natural frequency of wall is high. The erroneous accumulation will to be serious, because the length of step is too small to cause load steps increase. This author has proposed the sub-step integral big-step loading method. The linear and non-linear structure model through the numerical simulation has been researched, the result indicated that this method can reduce the loading steps evidently, and guaranteed that the pseudo-dynamic testing to be stably work. This article take the pseudo-dynamic test results of masonry composite wall as the instruction, using the elasto-plastic finite element method, calculating a lot of models of wall, the mutual confining action and the bending effect has discussed. Then the effect coefficient has been given. Expand the applied range of this efficiency formula, and the precision meet with engineering desire.
