In the course of vehicle's high speed driving, tire failure is most worried about and most difficult to prevent, and is the primary cause of unexpected accidents. Therefore, how to know the real-time work status of the tires and keep the standard tire pressure has become an important topic of enhancing vehicle driving safety. In this thesis, there is an introduction of how the tire pressure and temperature influence the tire performance, and on the basis of fully analyzing various causes of tire bursting, Smart Tire Safety Monitoring System for Vehicles is designed and developed with the application of advanced electronic control, computer and communication technology in the automobile electronic product. The system is a direct type of TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), it is composed of data sampling module, data receiving module, data display and alarming module. If there are some abnormal signs of tires, the system will send alarm to driver to take measures, so the possibility of traffic accidents will be the least. In the thesis, after the introduction of system principle, the actual performance requirements of the system are taken into account, the hardware and software system are studied and developed respectively, then a stable, safe and economical set of Smart Tire Safety Monitoring System for Vehicles is realized. At last, after the repeated tests and experiments on the hardware and software system, and the on-car examinations, the whole system is able to meet all the performance requirements put forward before, so it improves the safety of car driving greatly, and the research and design have great practical application value.
