Study On The Evolution Model Of Peri-Urban Rural In The New Era

The main target of this research is peri-urban rural area, and the cases are from southern Jiangsu area--an economically developed and urban agglomerative region. The development of peri-urban rural area usually has strong links with the cities. In the urbanization process since the beginning of reform and opening up, the peri-urban rural area has developed in several models, accompanied by a series of problems and contradictions. This research is to analyze the motivation mechanism of the development from the perspective of city and rural co-ordination, and to summarized the development models through the research of five typical situations --settlements, villages inside city, vacant villages, non-agricultural villages and agricultural villages, and further more to solve the problems and to bring out the development responses.The first chapter is about the concepts of the target, the background of study and the methods and frames of research. In the second chapter, the thesis analyzes the motivation mechanism of the development of peri-urban rural area, including the factors and interactions between city and rural area, and makes the classification of the models. In the third chapter, the thesis analyzes and summarizes the cause, the problems and the trend of each model, and brings out the responses. The last part is the sum up of the challenges, trends and responses of peri-urban rural area.
