Being based on the flexible deformation, harmonic drive achieves transferring its motion or power. In the circle turning, it is easy causing fatigue rupture for the flexspline, so the most concentrate attention is paid to the fatigue strength research of the flexspline.Aiming at the problem of the traditional strength research of flexspline and referring to the domestic and foreign existing research, this paper analyzed the stress and displacement of the flexspline under different wave producers by applying the finite element method. The main work and the relevant achievements in this paper are as follows:(1) Being based on the elastic theory, this paper studied the things about the geometric calculating and structural designing. Then, this paper studied the stress distributing and deformation characteristics of the flexspline under the 4 centralizing forces model and opened out the mechanics characteristics of the flexspline, and provided the important theory bases for the more studies.(2) The ratio of the largest radial deformation and the thickness of the flexspline is much more than 0.2, so it is a large deformation question. Then, this paper used large deformation contact FEA, and assured the accordance of the finite element model with the actual load. For the load of the flexspline is very complex, this paper put forward an original reduced finite element model of the flexspline, including symmetry reducing, boundary reducing and tooth reducing.
