In this paper, the state of research of the statistical process control based on small batch production is summarized. The application and its problems about statistical process control in contemporary manufacturing mode are analyzed. Based on the analysis on the characteristics of small batch production,it is concluded that the traditional Shewhart control chart is not suitable for quality control of small batch production. From the quality control view, the range of small batch is defined, the new quality control means——zero-nonconformity production control charts are put forward. By these new control charts, the steady control limits are able to build when the production begins, the problem is solved that the appropriate control limits are hard to be built by using the traditional Shewhart control chart in small batch production environment because enough data can not be acquired. Combined with the Tabular Cumulative Sum Control Chart, it can be used to the environment of small batch production. Its feasibility and effectiveness are validated by case study.On the basis of theoretical research, the statistical process control system is studied and developed,in which the traditional Shewhart control chart and the method presented in the paper are employed, the functions of quality analysis and real-time control are realized. The system can be used to analyze quality data, output report and give alerts on exception, which is demonstrated by examples. At last, the conclusions are given, the further research and investigation are suggested.
