Compared with traditional chiller and heater, seawater refrigerant and heat pump system is not only low first cost and low operating cost, but also environment friendly. In this paper, the cycle and saving energy characteristics are analyzed, and the cycle index which impacted by heat and cool resources is also researched. In order to enhance the efficiency of the seawater refrigerant and heat pump system, the cycle is modified to approach Carnot cycle because Carnot cycle is most effective. The base that calculated and analyzed the efficiency and the cycle index of the system which used approximate Carnot refrigerants is researching design method and property of refrigerants.Expander replaced throttle valves is another attractive way to approach Carnot cycle and improve the efficiency of the system. The coefficient of cooling and heating are calculated at a typical operating condition of the seawater refrigerant and heat pump equipment. Then analyzing which expander is more applicable for medium and small equipments and research the main index of it.Sea water is strong erosive fluid and there are many halobios which also corrosive materials, so it is necessary to select corrosion resistant materials that make sure the operating safety and reduce the fist cost of the system. In this paper, analyzing the principle of sea water corrosion and put forward it would be using metal-plastic composite materials to prevent corrosion. At last, the experiment equipment was set up. By imitating the climate and the temperature of Tianjin's sea water, the operational parameter, performance characteristics and the heat transfer of sea water evaporator are all studied. Figure out that there would be further studied about seawater refrigeration and heat pump technology.
