With the fast development of information technology, great success of the railway informatization has been achieved, especially the general founding of TMIS has improved the integration of railway information greatly, and makes the transport production data of every level increase greatly, which has brought much convenience to the management of the transport production. However, the period of TMIS construction is too long, and each sub-system is developed & built separately, so the connectedness & interoperation is not so good, and a large number of basic data of every system needs to be maintained on its own, then it' s not convenient for other systems and managers to use, this results in a great waste of information source. At the same time, due to the early start of our railway informatization, the rapid development of information has made great difference between the methods used in the early and terminal periods, and there is still much mining space for TMIS in the effective use of existed great data.In face of furicus competition, only has a whole grasp(?)er its own management status, can the railway industry make right strategy. In this condition, it' s inevitable to use the advanced information technology and existing business systems to mine this information for railway macroscopicaL control & microcosmic regulation of railway transport production, so mature business intelligence technology provides a superior solution for the effective integration of the super-sized distribute databases.Business intelligence is the sum of a series of methods, techniques and software, which uses advanced information technology to the whole enterprise. It' s not a single product, but a solution, a concourse of concept, means, process andsoftware to improve the ability of decision and management. The realization of business intelligence involves software, hardware, counseling, application, and so on. The basic structure includes Data Warehouse (DW), OLAP and Data mining (DM). DW is used to extract, coordinate, distribute and store useful information;OLAP analyzes the data stored in the DW multidimensional;and DM is a good approach to industry information to decision, it can find out problems and rules, and provide strong support for the industry to make future development tactic. The paper relies on the project of Chengdu Railway Bureau freight marketing analysis system. The significance of the paper includes two aspects. One is using the business intelligence technique to design a freight marketing analysis system, which is suitable for railway freight management through analyzing TMIS data source, providing an effective analysis tool for railway freight market;the other is utilizing this opportunity to discuss the amalgamation application of TMIS and business intelligence and other advanced techniques, offc -ng a primary solution to the optimization of the effect of railway product management information.Firstly, this paper introduces the background, the present situation of railway informatization and business intelligence, describes its theory and correlative techniques systematically, and emphasizes the DW & OLAP;secondly, this paper accomplishes the requirement analysis for the freight marketing analysis system and data, source analysis based on the application condition of TMIS;After studying the theory & requirement, this paper sets up the freight marketing analysis system DW model according to the steps of DW development, establishes the OLAP system and OLAP multidimensional cube model and applicationprocess based on DW. At last, this paper demonstrates the realization process of the front section, and gives the example pages for it.
