The Design And Implemention Of Bus Data Analysis System For Business Intelligence

The increasing availability of public transport data creates unprecedent opportunities to change the paradigm for data analytics in transportation systems. A particularly promising area is to extract useful business intelligence, which can be used as guidance for reducing inefficiencies in energy consumption of transportation sectors, improving customer experiences, and increasing business performances. However, extracting business intelligence from public transport system is not a trivial task. Conventional data analytic tools are usually not customized for handling large, complex, dynamic, and distributed nature of data. To that end, we develop a data analysis system to explore the massive operation data from different business perspectives.In this paper we propose a model how to prepare a data warehouse for a public transport company using SQL Server 2008 R2. Data in data analysis system comes from different information system, using ETL we have extracted all the heterogeneous data from different data sources and did the possible transformations to convert all into a common format according to user requirements and finally load all the data into a data warehouse. After having the homogenous data it is easy to analyse the data. That task is done by creating a multidimensional database from the relational database and by analyzing the data from multiple angles. In this paper we have represented that data in a reporting system with reports, charts or tables etc in a visual picture of the performance of the public transport company. The user can query report data from multiple dimensions, such as, the time dimension and attribute dimension.Then in the final step, data analysis system supervise and control reports by applying the Reporting Service.
