Research On Application Of BI In Traffic Accident Analysis

How to take measures to decline traffic accidents is an important aspect of the traffic administrative department of police, which need utilizing science and technology to get an accurate tendency and characteristic of traffic accidents. Business Intelligence(BI) has provided efficient methods. It functions to transfer data into information and knowledge, resulting in analysis and decision-making with the large amount of accident data accumulated year by year.This thesis is based on one project of a police station named Traffic Accident Analysis System , analyzing and researching application of BI, that is, application of data warehouse, OLAP and data mining in the causes and prevention of traffic accident. First, this thesis analyses the causes of accident from several aspects, such as driver, vehicle, and surroundings based on the theory of city's traffic accidents. It expatiates on the correlation between the accident and its causes, and lays the foundations for multiple dimension model and analysis model of traffic accident. Second, A series of solutions about accident analysis of BI technology is presented, such as: extract ,transformation and loading of related data, setup data warehouse of traffic accident analysis, as well as establishment of multiple dimension model to make a practical use of traffic accident's OLAP statistic analysis and intelligent reports. Last, deep research on the causes of traffic accident is done to get a conclusion of some prevention approaches, which is based on data mining model of multidimensional association rules .At present, the traffic accident analysis system of BI system framework has been exerted. In practice, it fulfills the objectives from one accident's information analysis and conduction to macro-control of regional traffic accident; at the same time, it contributes to evaluate road safety condition precisely and formulate scientific and effective prevention strategies of traffic accident.This thesis combinations with project implementation and is guided under design principle of software engineering .It illustrates the devise and application of BI system of traffic accident from relatively independent aspects, they are data warehouse, OLAP and data mining.
