In recently years, the railway freight transportation is facing from several major highways,waterways, civil aviation and other transport mode of competition pressure is more and moreintense, and railway market occupancy rate presents downward trend year by year. In addition,according to the institutional restructuring and functional transformation plan, the ministry’sadministrative powers will be incorporated into the Ministry of Transport. Meanwhile, theChina Railway Corporation will be set up to take over the railway ministry’s commercialfunctions. Railway enterprises will be self-financing, with a more independent right to operate.Therefore, more efforts to carry out freight marketing work appear more necessary and moremeaningful. The application of marketing and customer relationship management and theother related theories, based on the information technology, to build the railway freightinternet information platform, it has a strong realistic and practical signficance for the work ofthe railway marketing under the new situation.At first, this paper introduces the domestic and international rail freight marketing statusquo, the main content of the thesis, the problems to be solved, and the approach taken andtechnical route. Then analyzes the status quo of the existing railway freight marketinginformation system and the existing problems, at the same time, analyzes the need to solve theproblem of freight marketing platform. On this basis, it is proposed to build the Internetinformation platform based on B/S structure of the rail freight marketing, request analysis andmodule division has been carried on and the supporting technologises are discussed. Next, hascarried on the system design of this platform, which mainly incudes database design andgeneral function module design. Then detailed design and coding work have been done,according to the page in the face of each function is introduced, and focuses on the statisticalanalysis of prediction module realization process. Then describes how the transportationmarket in quantitative forecasting methods applied to rail freight marketing. Finally, thesolution of all kinds of information integration is given, and the next step for further study ofthe paper work is summarized and prospected.
