The Fringe Space Of Landscape

The research on the space of the landscape is much more concerned with the space body itself than the fringe space,yet the latter is used the most frequently by people at will,and where the behavior is the most abundant actually.The fringe space confined the realm,defined the central space.The fringe space is not the end of the space,but the start to represent the mutual features of the neighbouring areas.the fringe links and transits all the different space,so it provides the landscape good continuous site and helps the form multi-space features that can meet people's needs.Through vast on-the-spot investigation and study on the public park,the watershore green space,theme park,botanic garden and zoo in the city of chengdu,shanghai,hangzhou,peking,xi'an,qingdao etc,I focused on the city green space.Beginning with the relationship between the behavior and the environment in the public green space of the city, the fringe space of the landscape was laid emphasis on,which was closely linked to the people's outdoor activities.Through the observation and record of the activities occurring in the fringe space,I found the conformation of the fringe and the action space.In the thesis,I analysed the supporters to the behavior by fringe space,the appearance and related behaviors result of the fringe space.The character, different elements, divers manifestation and the formation of the fringe space are discussed in the method of searching the essence through the surface phenomenon. And the thesis summarizes the principles of the fringe design in landscape, introduces the specific design and the details of the landscape.Through the analysis and discussions above, we are guided that our design must served for the people.we should provide good supports for people's diverse behavior in public space, this also will inspire the modern park and public space of design.
