Collage Illusions

The thesis is mainly concerned about "collage", by using the phrase from art andpainting to represent a concept and method of landscape design., and combine theworking experience, discuss the meaning of "collage" and it's origin in detail. Finallythe author draws an initial conclusion of this method. With urban commercial district, a comparatively complex project and focus in thecity construction nowadays as the object of analysis, the author investigates, comparesand studies the urban commercial districts, then analysis the problems existed in theurban public environment design, discovers the problems appeared in the practice andpoint out the way to improve the current situation.The thesis consists of five parts including forward, concept, method, applicationand conclusion. The author expounds propose and meaning of the project, introducesthe achievement we have got already and the basic frame of the thesis. When talkingabout the concept, the author explained the "collage" and "landscape", two conceptsappeared in the title, discussed their deep meaning, while at the same time reviewedthe history, types and the design evaluation standard of the urban commercialdistricts.Finally concluded the characteristics of the urban commercial districts during theprocess of its formation and development. The author put emphasis on the discussionof the design thinking, method of "collage" and it application in the real life;expounded the necessity of the application of "collage" in the urban commercialdistrict design, concluded three kinds of conception and methods concerning the"collage" with examples to prove them correspondently. Finally the author used thelandscape design of Renming Avenue in Changchun, a project she participated in asexample discussed the application of design method she mentioned before.G.W.F. Hegel, the German philosophizer once had poetic imagination of theliving condition of human being. Based on the macro background of the cityconstruction of China, with the purpose to summarize the lessons drew from thepractice, the thesis pointed out the design conception and method in special district,realized and what's more important, modified the abstract conception in a projectionto make the circumstance we lived in poetic and fitted for the need of modern people.
