Research For The Historic City Conservation Of Zhongxiang

At present, not only Zhongxiang city but all the national historic cities are at the critical point of crisis and chance.Unprecedented attention and unparalleled destroy co-exist in the current situation of historic cities. Accompany with the high speed of cities'development ,cultural heritage ,historical environment and city characteristics have been also badly damaged and the main manifestation is constructive damage.Meamwhile with the improvement of economic level and the development of social cultural enterprises ,more attention is paid to city environment and culrural construction in city construction in city construction ,not only value on single material construction as before.Goverment ,the pubic and other social organizations are thinking more highly of the protection for cultural heritage and historic environment . The objective of this thesis is to suggest systematically measures to protect this historic city after a thorough study of Zhongxiang city, and have a preliminary research about the change of concept and city planning system on conservation of Chinese historic cities. The content is mad up of five chapters. In exordium the first chapter, is to introduce why the theme is studied and what can be educed, and state the content and method that being used in the research. The second chapter, at first it makes an analysis on Zhongxiangs'special characteristics, cultural characteristics and its inherent problem, and raise the main purpose concerning the conservation of this historic city. The third chapter is to evaluate and analyze the current situation of Zhongxiang city and its relevant city planning and regulations ,and state that the main problems of conservation for Zhongxiang are badly damages from construction ,one-sides ,negative and passive of the current protection measures, and ineffective policy. The forth chapter, it makes a comprehensive analysis on the conflicts between city conservation and construction and economically probe into the inherent mechanism of the conservation of historic city. It put forward the protection strategy to live with city construction microscopically, microsmically and implemently. Base on the above thesis, the fifth chapter suggests ways to protect this historic Zhongxiang city from the following four aspects: strategy options, protection of the overall structure and scenery, preservation of historic area and cultural relies and the formulation of policy. It discusses about the combination for city conservation with city construction, city planning and industrial's development as well as the combination with green-land system, scenery system, road and traffic planning etc. And it put forward the direction of conservation laws and regulations with the participation of the pubic and the market .Finally is my personal point about the transformation of the concept and the creative city planning with regard to conservation for historic cities.
