Research And Consideration On New Campus Construction Of Chengdu Aeronautic Vocational And Technical College

The demand of social development motivates the development of education, while education is the engine of economic development and scientific progress. In the era of knowledge-based economy, our society requires talents with high quality, exploring spirit and inter-disciplinarity. Thus college education shifts its attention from a few people to the mass. It enlarges the scale of enrolment, makes quality cultivation its center and aims in people's all-round development. Education should be made for modernization of society, for the world, and for the future. Democratizing education system, making education a life-long process and diversifying the functions of education direct the development of high education in the 21~st century. They also promote the development and change of university to go with the time, and thrust modern university to become a comprehensive and researching unity of teaching, studying and social services. So the scale and content of campus are also developing, which greatly influence the program and design of modern university campus. It is the new wave of university construction. The ultimate goal of education is not only instructing knowledge, but also training students to master the idea, technique and methods of knowledge. The essence of modern education is no longer unilateral instructing, but information communicating. Thus we would rather view college as a stage to exchange thoughts and express feelings than classroom for teaching knowledge. Adapting to the development ofmodern education, and representing the change of modern education concept are the basic questions of designing and constructing campus in large scale. Questing for the new theory and practice on campus design and construction is the important subjects in front of modern university.This article is based on the practice and research of constructing the new campus of Chengdu Aeronautic Vocational and Technical College (CAVTC). It uses the example of Sichuan University and some other domestic universities as reference, and discusses the new characteristics of design pattern of modern campus, especially CAVTC. This article researches into the functional section and architectural design according to the particular situation of CAVTC, proposes personal consideration on dealing with the separation and connection of each functional sections. According to the principle of people foremost, it analyses the relation between new campus design and university students' life style, the reasonable distribution of the dormitory area index, and other relative issues. Through the perspective of architectural aesthetics, it discusses the visual art of architecture through the aspects of solid structure, color, shadow and the landscape of environment, etc. it follows the concept of ecology and environment, makes the consideration on ecological design of the interior and exterior environment, and proposes the opinion on the sustainable development of CAVTC.The purpose of considering and researching on the new campus construction of CAVTC is to learn from the advanced theory from domestic and oversea high schools, analyze and compare the experiences from other new campuses, research on the new campus construction program of CAVTC, and quest for a better developing mode for the college. This article serves as a reference of the new campus construction program of CAVTC and the sustainable development in the future.
