Architectural is the symbol to record human being's civilization. Semiotics as a new researching method has come to be known and accepted since its birth at the beginning of the 20th century, and it has been applied in such field as art and literature. In 1950s, the theory of semiotics has permeated architecture field and has closely related with the formation and development of modernism, postmodernism and deconstructionism in architectural aesthetics. And semiotics is playing a more and more important role in China's modern architectural artistic creation. Therefore, it's more meaningful to have a deep exploration into the theory of semiotics. This article adopts the theory of semiotics from previous scholars. Analysis regarding the role and significance of architectural symbol is conducted from architectural symbols'point of view, and it's also pointed out about architectural symbols'role on emotional communication. With the instruction of theory of aesthetics and art, research about architectural art is conducted from the viewpoint of semiotics and then the thesis points out that architectural art is a kind of creation of emotional semiotic form. The expressing way of architectural art is to produce final mature architectural form of the special artistic symbol and through the materialized transformation of human being's emotion.
