In this paper, mutil-channel pressure test instrument based on virtual instrument is introduced. This instrument can be used to measure the change of the pressure in the container when temperature and time varies after a special material is burn. Therefore, some features of the specials material will be studied.Virtual Instrument (VI), which is the combination of computer technology and instrument technology, has been widely used in test research field. According to software stratagem, virtual instrument technology can help us to build test system rapidly . In the paper, the beginning, development, features and structure of the virtual instrument are introduced briefly, to show its advantage, it is compared with traditional hardware instrument. The author combined the virtual instrument with pressure test technology and analyzed the system structure of mutil-channel pressure test instrument which is composed of resistance strain pressure sensor, pressure test transform instrument ( signal modulation part), data acquisition card, general computer and software. The function of each part was analyzed in detail. Some kinds of common software for virtual instrument are introduced in the end. Selecting LabVIEW/G graphic software and applying OPP software design method, the author finished designing of central controlling module, parameter validating module, pressure channel setting module, pressure zero setting module, data acquisition module, data display module, data analysis module, data redisplay module, wave-form display module. The virtual pressure test instrument is realized which can be used to collect, deal with, analysis and display the pressure signal in container.The virtual pressure test instrument has been applying in some scientific research work and good test results were obtained. It is suitable for pressure test in lab.
