In this paper, series of Finite Element Analysis and study on Bus Body Frame are preceded. Based on the research on tire done before, a method of using Finite Element Method to study bus dynamic performance is discussed fundamentally. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1) Based on ready-made researches, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design method used in Finite Element programming are discussed in chapter 2;(2) By analyzing the mechanics character of bus body frame, a Finite Element Model of the frame is established, and some key issues about frame modeling are summarized;(3) Integrating the domestic and foreign correlative researches, series of static analysis on the frame are implemented, the results of stress, strain and deform present references for the frame lightening design;(4) According to the dynamic requirement of a bus, modal analysis on the frame is performed and the reasonable result provides a solid foundation for succedent spectrum analysis;(5) A model of ground-tire-suspend system is established in chapter 5; the input spectrum of the frame is obtained by using the model under the white noise road spectrum, and then the multi-point spectrum analysis response of the frame under the input spectrum is achieved. This provides a new FEM to analysis vehicle response spectrum;(6) Static and dynamic experiments of the frame are expatiated in chapter 6, the results of the experiments have testified the analyses done above, and offered practical foundation;(7)Structure Optimization Analysis program of the frame is written by using APDL, and optimized schemes are concluded through the Structure Optimization Analysis. Also Topology Optimization Analysis is performed on top cover of the frame; the results provide reference points to the improvement of the structure;The originality of the paper is applying FEM on analyzing the dynamic performance and topology optimization. In dynamic analysis, the whole vehicle system is split into two sub-system, respective analyses on the sub-system are more effective on personal computer than the whole one. In topology optimization, the problem is simplified by separating the top cover from the frame and the method of applying topology optimization on sub-structure is advanced. In a word, the paper is a very important development on vehicle engineering and has an important theory significance and practical value.
