To research it have values in many aspects.Part 1: According to know the course of Christianity's spreading in Kaifeng, it shows the background and origin of Cathedral of Lishiting. The first time of entering is in 1608. The missionary's aim is to research the Jews community in Lishiting Block. The first church was built on the side of Hong heyan Street in 1628. This course of Christianity was abrupt because of the flood of the Yellow River in 1642. After 10 years about, the church was built once more under the help of officials of Henan Province. Then the Qing Government banned missions because there exists divergence between China and Vatican. Until 1844, Christianity could enter into China freely, and Kaifeng till 1901, that was the latest capital that accepted Christianity. This is the reason whycathedral of Lishiting was built till 1917.Part 2: Cathedral of Lishiting is kept well, but its drawings and documents have disappeared under the complex modern history of China.
