Research On The Protection And Utilization Of Yueyang Missionary School

Yueyang Missionary School,which is located in Huangshawan community of South Lake Scenic Area’s Hubin Office in Yueyang city of Hunan Province, is playing an important role in patriotism education and economic development of this region. Although having gradually lost missionary function with the development of the society, Yueyang Missionary School has become especially important for us in protecting the unique historical value. How to make a reasonable and effective protection and utilization, as well as exploring the way to completing this is the focus of this article. Following parts are included:Firstly, the introduction part raises questions, elaborates background, purposes, significance and current study state of this issue, identifying research methods and framework. The second chapter systematically discusses historical evolution of Yueyang Missionary School under the background of modern society, then concludes characteristics and values of its campus site, planning and architecture, so as to provide background for further study. The third chapter analyzes and summarizes various existing problems as well as the necessity of protection and utilization of Yueyang Missionary School. The fourth chapter puts forward strategies of exterior environment with a combination of Yueyang Missionary School’s own characteristics. The fifth chapter puts forward reasonable protection and utilization strategies of architecture, combing architecture characteristics of Yueyang Missionary School. Finally, the conclusion part provides reflections and prospects of modern missionary school protection and utilization.Taking Yueyang Missionary School as an example, this thesis aims to discuss the way to protect and utilize the missionary schools under the background of the the modern society.
