The micro-computer-based protection plays an important role in the power system'ssafe operation, but at the same time, it lies in the substation where the EMI is harsh, sothe EMC of the protection is a very serious problem. The paper is mainly about how to improve the immunity of protection to EMI andanalysis of the EMI transmission approach in substation. The author carries through the entire immunity tests to the CSL101B-2 protectionaccording to the IEC60255-22 series standards, and tries modeling the EMC ofprotection devices with the traditional circuit-theory and some relativeelectromagnetic-field theory, referring to the results of disturbance tests. The paperfinishes the simulation and modeling of the EMI resources in substation with MATLAB6.1 and applies the "electromagnetic topology"in the analysis of the propagatingchannels of EMI in substation.
