In this article, the current development and prospect of tower crane's design and technology of computer-aided design are introduced. This article completed the research of tower crane's computer-aided design. The research of this article provides the valuable method for design of the tower crane and consults for the same kind products.The research results have the certain theories meaning with the practical value in engineering. First, this article discussed design and development methods of the tower crane's computer-aided design completely and systematically, putting forward in familiar problems of design process, and give the solution methods definitely. Second, this article discussed the function of each composing modular. Third, from the thought of modular, it divided the platform into boom modular, mast modular, equilibrium boom modular, crest modular, stability-calculated modular, and realized the data transmission among the modules from the interface, fourth, for example of the tower crane mast modular, considering the kinds of the load case completely, it put forward the solved model-pressed and curved continuous beam model. Through the optimization design method, it led to the solved formula all and the programs.For verifying accuracy of the investigative platform, we designed the tower crane mast again about the type of 5012. The verifying result expresses, using this platform not only can get the accurate and reasonable design result, but also its movement stability, dependable and efficiencies are high. Therefore, this platform is of great future and is valuable to apply to the various product designs.
