Conservation, Regeneration And Reuse Of Xi'an Qixianzhuang District

Qixianzhuang locate in the northeast of old city area (inside the city wall) of Xi'an. Contains ten narrow courtyards of Guanzhong area built in 1936. No.l courtyard established the revolutionary Army of Eight Road Shannxi office in 1937. The Eighth Route Army memorial hall of Xi'an office was established on in No.lcourtyard in 1959. The heritages of the revolutionary Army of Eight Road Shannxi office was annunciated national preservation denomination in 1988.To develop Xi'an Qixianzhuang district and exhibit this district historical, cultural and architectural charming through historic district conservation and regeneration. Through living conditions investigations lead to right decision of conservation. From compartmentalization several classes to form very conservation zone. Hermeneutics is the way of understanding history and past, and then it maybe a good method deals with how to regenerating historic district. Build new frame of Qixianzhuang district and generate whole area integrated domination. Furthermore, establish relationship between people and traditional architecture, and then found livability and viability living area. The life style and habitation of people whom living there from early 20th century to nowadays be parts of history, while we don't value it. Being a part of history modern ages, Qixianzhuang is the very thing tell us the past, now and future of Xi'an City. To keep its unique character is to preserve foundations of tradition culture and to make Xi'an more attractive. This paper emphasis on makes us known that it is important to conservation near past heritages and Xi'an Qixianzhuang district as a historic district.
