The reinforced earth can make use of the advantage of the materials by the interaction between the reinforcement materials and the soil and improve the shear strength and stability of earth mass. It also has remarkable economic benefits. In soft foundation strength, filling soil, excavating project it becomes more and more widely used. This paper has done the indoor test of the frictional property of the reinforced earth, and the prototype measurement and calculation with finite element method of the single level super high reinforcement retaining wall located in Panzhihua City.By the friction experiment of reinforcement geosynthetic materials, some internal laws about the frictional property of the reinforced earth are obtained and described as follows: l.The development of the friction between reinforcement and filling has a direct relation to the relative displacement between the two ones; 2.The vertical pressure can influent thefriction only within certain limits; 3.The pseudo-friction coefficient f shows a nonlinear reduction with the increase of vertical pressure.The conclusions from the finite element analysis are as follows: 1. The distribution of the tensile force of the tied reinforcement like the wave; 2. The tensile force becomes little close to the geogrid; 3. the maximal horizontal displacement appears in the area near the face of the wall and the maximal settlement appears in the;4. the stress of the bottom of the foundation is high; 5. the middle and lower part of the wall is the important part of the design and control.Through the prototype measurement, the tensile force of the tied reinforcement, the lateral earth pressure to the face and the settlement of the embankment are obtained. The laws are as follows: 1. the rupture of the tile reinforcement won't happen in the whole structure; 2. the distribution of the tensile force have two maximal along the length of the tile; 3. That geogrid laying in the filling improve the strength and stability of the wall; 4. The maximal settlement and the horizontal displacement appears in the middle and lower part of the wall; 5. the deformation of reinforcement material could not keep with the settlement of the filling cause that the stress of the tensile concentrated; 6. the stress of the bottom of the foundation of the reinforcement is very high .which should make up attention in design.This paper is not only of great importance to this project, but also provide the reference for the later study and design .
