A double face erect mutual anchorable thin slab retaining wall is a special form of reinforced earth, which is good in term of technology and economy. But the academic studies and applications of this new structure are still in their preliminary stage. In this dissertation, prototype measurement and numerical analyses for the magnitudes and distributions of earth pressure of wall, the magnitudes and distributions of earth pressure of foundation, tensile force of reinforcing steel bar, the magnitudes and distributions of vertical earth pressure and effect of parameter. The main work and conclusion are as fellows:1. Look back generally to elaborate, research present situation and the development of retaining wall structure.2. Combining the results of prototype measurement and numerical analyses, main conclusions are as fellow:(1) From the top down, the lateral earth pressure augments gradually. The lateral earth pressure is with a curve distribution and the lateral earth pressure of the prototype measurement is bigger than the pressure of theoretic method when the distance from the top of the wall is bigger than 4m or equal to 4m. The magnitudes and distributions of earth pressure will be affected when the distributing of soil is not symmetrical.(2) From the top down, tensile force of reinforcing steel bar augments gradually. Tensile force of reinforcing steel bar is with a curve distribution. The distribution of the tensile force has tow maximal along the length of the bar.(3) With the increasing height of earth, the earth pressure of foundation increases. The magnitudes of earth pressure are smaller than the magnitudes calculated by σ =γH.(4) In high-fill embankment from the top down, the vertical earth pressure augments with an approximate linear distribution, only at the area in which the high of wall is from 1m to 3m the vertical earth pressure augments with a non-linear distribution. When the high of wall is bigger than 3m, the magnitudes of vertical earth pressure are adjacent the magnitudes calculated by σ =γH. When the high of wall is smaller than 3m, the magnitudes of vertical earth pressure are smaller than the magnitudes calculated by σ =γH.(5) Increasing the modulus of elasticity of high-fill embankment earth and foundation...
