The earth-reinforcement can improve the intensity and stability of earth mass, and effectively utilize .the materials' advantage. So such technique can bring remarkable economic benefit. Reinforced retaining wall is one kind of indiscrete compound structure. If only its interior stability or exterior stability cannot be met, corresponding failure would happened in retaining wall.In this dissertation, the application and the development of earth-reinforcing technique, and progress down to day in reinforced retain-ing wall research have been expounded retrospectively. As to a reinforced retaining wall with H = 21.6m and single step, which is reinforced by concrete block reinforcement, steel-plastic compound CAT reinforcement and bi-directional geogrid, the engineering characteristics of the earth-fill and CAT reinforcement have been tested in door, while the prototype measurement, routine computation and finite element calculation are carried out as well. On the basis of their results and the comprehensive analysis, such issues as stresses, deformations, stability of reinforced retaining high wall have been studied, and issues that should be noticed in the course of designing and building of high reinforced retaining wall are pointed out.After experimentally studying the engineering characteristics of Xigeda-Soil earth-fill and CAT reinforcement, the following are found:(1)When Xigeda soil is used as earth-fill for reinforced retaining wall, corresponding measures must be introduced for waterproofing-and drainage.(2)The taking-effect of the friction between reinforcement and earth-fill relates directly to the relative displacement between them.(3)0nly within certain range, vertical pressure takes effect on the friction.(4)With vertical pressure increasing, the pseudo-friction coefficient f* reduces nonlinearly.Based on the comprehensive analysis, some conclusions andsuggestions are made as following:(1)There are favorable interior stability and integral stability in the reinforced retaining wall, which located at the athletic field of the No. 3 Middles School in Panzhihua city.(2)The lateral earth pressure on the face of reinforced retaining wall distributes in a polyline shape along the wall, and its value is between the active earth pressure and the earth pressure at rest.(3)With earth-fill thickening, tensile force of the shrouding wire increases. Along the reinforcement, the tensile force appears wavy, and present two or more peak value. The "0.3H" method is a kind of much reliable design method.(4)There is biggish deformation at the middle and lower part of the wall. Being flexible structure, reinforced retaining wall is able to adapt to the biggish deformation occurred during the construction period. However, oversize deformation would induce safely problem, so deformation control should be considered during design and construction. And such control should be focused on the middle and lower part of the wall.(5)As to reinforced high retaining wall, the problem that the deformation and stress is biggish should be taken into account.(6)Construction factors (such as compactness, conjunction of reinforcement, etc.) touch directly the wall's deformation and atress. So strict control must be exercised over workmanship in the course of construction.(7)Flexible material reinforcement do not very well in improving the deformation of reinforced earth.(8)As for reinforced high retaining wall, when requisition being met, slab staggering should be planted, for fear that the deformation in retaining wall and the basal stress would be oversize, which would tamper with the retaining wall's normal use.(9)When designing reinforced retaining wall, the calculation should be carried out from interior stability as well as exterior stability. Such things as calculating the earth pressure, choosing reinforcement, should be done strictly according to corresponding-Specifications.Study in this dissertation can do good to the project's normal running, as well as provide some useful...
