Architecture and city is not only the material carrier of human civilization, but also the spirit carrier of the sense of identity and belonging for a long time. Regional architecture characteristics derive from dependency and identity for the specific geographical environment from people. Under the background of globalization, developing the modern city by the way of demolition and reconstruction caused the convergence of architectural culture and the disappearance of the regional differences. At the same time, creating a kind of historical atmosphere in an identical style is just like showing scenery, neglecting links between the building and the specific environment. The phenomenon that regional architecture characteristics disappear is serious, people feeling strange and lost in the city. In view of this phenomenon, the author of this paper explore a kind of practical method to implement regional architecture in the context of globalization basis on the theory of critical regionalism.Through intensive study in relevant concepts of regionalism and the theory of critical regionalism, analyzing the phenomenon of regional practice in urban architecture, I put forward a kind of practice strategy combining local environment with the regional characteristics of architecture-’field reconstruction’. Based on the attitude of focus on the field from critical regionalism, analyze the relationship between regional characteristics of architecture and field; discuss the significance of regional place. Research the practice method of regionally architecture from field to place, to enrich the theory of critical regionalism.Main body of this article includes six chapters. The first chapter states and reflects the problem--the lack of the regional characteristics of architecture. The second chapter analyzes relevant concepts of regionalism and studies relevant theories of critical regionalism and puts forward thinking of the phenomenon and problem. The third chapter analyzes platform theory combined with cases, puts forward my own understanding and summarizes the concept of’field reconstruction’.The fourth chapter summarizes three components of ’field reconstruction’, analyzing and arguing with the typical case ’Shui an shan ju’. The fifth chapter puts forward the principles and strategies of ’field reconstruction’ combined with the analysis of specific cases. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarizing the main points of the paper.
