Based On Critical Regionalism: A Strategic Research On The Architectural Image In Suzhou New City Area

The architectural image is an important part of urban design and one of the key issues about the image of the city. The"architecture"not only refers to the entity itself,but also includs architecture and environment together constitute the place.With scientific and technological progress, "Globalization" phenomenon came into being, as people exciting with the"globalization", more and more regional and ethnic character of civilization is losing genes or change into a simple symbolic.Suzhou has a long history and a rich culture. Since the reform and opening up, Suzhou has undergone tremendous change in the structure, formed by the four new city area and together constitute the "five area groups"parallel mode. Different from the architectural image of the ancient city area, Suzhou New city area is in the rapid development to the modern.At the same time, new city area architectural image presents symbolic image of antique convergence and simple question.The architectural image is lack of regional mental,over time the regional culture of Suzhou will face extinction. Therefore, we need to explore how to express the spirit of the Suzhou region in the modern time to compensate for the shortcomings of the status.This research starts from the perspective of critical regionalism. According to the spirit of the Suzhou region, for status problems, this paper will summarize the design principles and appropriate countermeasures. This article want to shape the the architectural image of Suzhou new city area as well as other cities in China.The first chapter is an introduction to study the introduction and technical background to determine routes.
