With the worldwide lack of freshwater resources, people put forward higher requirements for water measuring devices. Traditional low accuracy mechanical water meter needs manual reading, which contains many irrational factors, such as heavey workload, big error, disturbing residents and so on. The IC card electronic water meter not only has high accuracy, but also uses the prepaid type which can greatly increase the efficiency of water management department.In this context, the thesis describes the research of intellectualized contactless IC Card nonmagnetic water meter. The way of nonmagnetic measure increases the Meter's accuracy. Contactless IC card, as the carrier of information transmission in the water meter system, can improve the convenience of the user operation. Basing on the function realization, the thesis places emphasis on the solution of key technologies including measuring accuracy, system stability and low power design. For improving the accuracy of water meter, the thesis mainly solves two issues. 1,How the sensors accurately induce the signal of the rotating of impeller. 2,How much water flows through water meter in every circle of the impeller's rotating. A series of practical measures were proposed in system stability and low power design to meet the requirements of practical applications. For the problem of interface between water meter and computer software system, the thesis also gives the solutions for password management, card issuing and card complement.The meter prototypes were strictly tested on the basis of《CJ/T 133—2007 integrated circuit card water meter》standard. The test result shows that meter prototypes have high accuracy,complete function,stable performance, and fully meet the demands of the standard.
