Research On Improvement Of Case Production Line Base On Value Stream Mapping

Demand from customer's diversification, and development of production technology, production management theory and method, brought about the transformation of production system. Lean production is an advanced production management theory, basis on comprehensive study to JIT production system as the representative of Japan Toyota production system applied around the world. The core content of it is to reduce internal waste, get the maximum output with minimum input, with the ultimate goal is based on the best quality and lowest cost products and respond as quickly to market needs. As a tool of lean production, value stream mapping can recognize unreasonable process visually and intuitionally, can help managers fully to master material and information flow in the process, to analysis and find out the waste, and apply the principles of lean manufacturing methods improvement plan, then to improve the production process.In this article we are on the basis of understanding lean manufacturing and value stream mapping, with the object of computer case top cover from C company stamping plant, collect the data , draw status value stream map, find out the problem, and design the future value stream map, develop improvement plan. According to the bottleneck problems identified from production status and ideal state value stream map, this article using assembly cell line improvement, single minute exchange of die, establishment and implementation of kanban management system for the improvement analysis as the main content. For assembly cell line improvement, focus and base on the application of process analysis and layout optimization analysis of cell line; For single minute exchange of die,analyze the present die change processes, recognize internal and external change time, and improve die change process and operations by transferring internal time into outside time as far as possible and work study ECRS method (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange, Simplify); For establishment and implementation of kanban management system, design pulling process and kanban, and analyze of the kanban quantity calculation. Through the application of value stream mapping and related method of lean production, we have eliminated a lot of inventory and wait time, and the lead time and efficiency were improved significantly, the goal made before has been completed basically.
