Electronic Transformers, as one of the important equipments of Digital Substation, have been paid much more attention for the establishment of the substation. Without iron core, Electronic Transformers not only eliminate the magnetic saturation but also eliminate the situation of ferromagnetic resonance. Now the monitoring of Electronic Transformers is still inspection on periodic, which is extremely backward. In this situation, the on-line Monitoring Electronic Transformer technology will be much needed. This paper presents a design of the on-line monitoring system, which works for Electronic Transformer. The full-text elaborates the theory and the design proposal of this system, and discusses the various components else. The system is built by two parts: hardware and software. Sensors were chosen in right size and circuits were designed properly are all included in hardware. Serial communication and measurement signal method are included in software. Finally, it carries out the uncertainty analysis of the monitor system with field testing data. This paper built the on-line monitoring system on Virtual Instrument. The on-line monitoring system based on virtual instrument technology can decrease the source of the measuring error. The system enhances both the flexibility of digital signal processing and the computing speed. On the other hand, the software exploitation, debugging and improving are easier, compared with the hardware circuit. The realization with virtual instrument is flexible and with low fabrication costs and short the period. At present, the on-line monitoring system has been tested with good running status, which shows that the system has satisfied the 2 class level. This system has met the design requirement.
