With the widely application of mass concrete structure in modem engineering, temperature field and stress field has become one of the research focuses in the structure calculation of mass concrete. Owing to the distribution complexities and the many influential factors of temperature field and stress field of mass concrete, it is impossible to get its accurate analysis in practice. As the rapid development in numerical simulation, many calculations were applied to the computer simulation technologies of temperature field and stress field of mass concrete, and among them, the finite element method was most wide applied. The numerical simulation calculation of temperature field and stress field of mass concrete was based on the finite element method in the paper. The main researches are as follows:(1) Based on the previous achievements, the mechanical properties of mass concrete were researched, and the influences and regularities in temperature field and stress field of mass concrete by the temperature deformation and other factors were mainly analyzed.(2) The heat-conduction theories of concrete was analyzed and calculated, and the heat transfer mechanism of mass concrete from theory was studied.(3)The paper takes advantage of the ANSYS to make numerical simulation analysis for roller compacted concrete dam (RCCD), the general regularities of temperature field and stress field of mass concrete have been concluded. In a word, the results of theory analysis in the paper are identical with the results in practice. The obtained conclusions and suggestion can be used to support theories for the rational design and operation of the mass concrete structure. It has some important theoretical meanings and practical values.
