With the continuous progress of urbanization, urban land using increasingly tense and urban greening area continues to decline. What's more, the ecological environment of city is also deteriorating, which includes the air pollution, water pollution, light pollution, noise pollution is seriously affecting people's lives.Nowadays balcony greening as one of important forms for city vertical greening, which not only can regulate the indoor microclimate automatically, absorb dust and harmful gases, reduce urban noise, but also is helpful for improving people's mental outlook and so on. Therefore, which makes it is great significant to explore the ecological effects of urban balcony greening on the promotion of balcony greening.In this paper, through building greening balcony in a residential room, and doing the comparative experiments in an adjacent room, then the temperature and humidity values of the cross sections in these two rooms were measured to compare. Based on testing data, contrasting the distribution of temperature and humidity in the two rooms, the effects of cooling and humidifying for balcony greening on the room thermal environment were analyzed. Meanwhile according to the transpiration of plants, the theoretical calculations for the results of plants increasing the temperature and reducing the humidity were proved. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Because with different time and different room height, the temperature of the room section with a balcony greening was lower about 0.1-1.0℃than the room without a balcony greening, while the relative humidity higher about 0.1-3.6%, the average temperature of the room was lower than about 0.4℃and the average relative humidity higher than about 1%-2%.(2) In this study, the total amount of green plants (green quantity is 19.5m2) can make the air temperature of 1000m3 column decreasing about 0.06℃and relative humidity increasing 0.07%. In some degree, the cooling and humidifying of plants was proved in theory.In addition, by assuming to simplify the model of room and plant, using the FLUENT software, of which boundary conditions are provided from the measured data to simulate about balcony greening with different environment conditions. Through contrasting the measured data and simulation results of temperature and relative humidity field at 12 times, the model of correctness is verified. As the results show, with lower temperature near the plant, the higher humidity could be obtained, and the indoor temperature and humidity was different with the outdoor conditions changing. All the results can verify the correctness of the numerical model and demonstrate the feasibility of FLUENT in the calculation of greening's effects on indoor temperature and humidity. It provides us a numerical method for calculating how more complex greening influences on thermal environment.Finally, based on the convicted model, also the three typical greening forms of balcony (hanging, attached to wall, the combination of hanging and attached to wall) were simulated, and then through analyzing different forms of greening's effect on the room temperature and humidity distribution, the best hanging form of balcony greening could be easily determined.
