Abstract/Summary:
This paper is the development of a new type of vibration energy dissipation devices– SMA viscous damper. Structural vibration energy dissipation technology is to install vibration energy dissipation devices in the structure's appropriate place. The use of these devices to reduce the energy consumption structure in the earthquake response.This paper describes the viscous dampers and shape memory alloy (SMA) research and application of the status quo and to the viscous fluid damper damping mechanism analysis. Compared with double pole, single out the pole, pore type, gap-structure different tectonic viscous dampers of the advantages and disadvantages working performance. As the existence of low-frequency viscous dampers inspired can't achieve energy dissipation effects, and easily lead to the structure of low-frequency excitation of the fatigue failure. In this paper, produced a new type of SMA viscous damper based on Taylor's model of viscous dampers using super-elastic SMA hysteretic energy dissipation capacity and load is independent of frequency characteristics. Analyzed the SMA viscous damper mechanical properties, and obtained its formula for calculating the damping force.Result shows that:(1) SMA dampers improved the general shortage of low-frequency energy under the disadvantage of low-frequency excitation of the structure also play a good protection.(2) Equipped with a viscous damper of the damping system consume the energy which bringed by the motion of the ground, the larger degree of protection for the structure.(3) Both ordinary viscous damper frame structure and SMA frame structure with viscous dampers have a good damping effect, but the latter has better damping effect. (4) SMA-viscous damper is well control strong earthquakes, especially in times of Hanshin wave which has greater peak acceleration.Fully proved that SMA viscous damper is an effective damping device, the generalframework of such a device applied have good damping effect and practical applicability.
