The Reaearch On The Residential Environment And Children's Safety

Residential environment is a crucial element to daily living of human being, which close correlate with residential quality of life. The safety is the most important link especially for children, because children are one of main user of outdoor living area. They need a great deal of outdoor activities to ensure their growth more healthy, even their using frequency used to more than adults. As per logic of children's behavior and psychology, they have to require higher security environment. However, during original design the unique characteristics of the child is often ignored by designers, whose issues is usually based on adult behavior and habits as a standard.The aim of this dissertation is that according the behavior and psychology of children as the starting point to analyze the behavior of children's outdoor activities and their impact factors from relationship between different level of child behavior and residential environment. Then identify any factors affecting children's safety and security elements in their residential areas to summarize. Chapter III selects various scales of residential area in Zhengzhou City which were built within recent 10 years as a primary research database. Then explain the methodology chosen for the research, the rationale behind the sampling of the security status after the field observations and questionnaire, which found a major threat to child safety hazards.Safety design is not an individual existed step obviously; oppositely it should be impenetrate into the entire process of residential area layout, blue print design and architecture. Finally chapter IV issues a principle of safety design based on relevant theory to people oriented after combination previous chapters'literature review and research results. To consider the safety residential environment on children, residential design is necessarily combined with the main steps of the safety recommendations proposed design method.
