A notable feature of service industry is the simultaneity of production and consumption, service personnel contact with consumers directly, their image plays a crucial role in service quality. Medical service have shifted from the traditional biomedical model to biological-psychological-social medical model. Hospitals not only emphasis on upgrading the medical hardware, also put forward more demands on the image of medical staff. As a "second skin of the body", clothing is the most intuitive display of the image. Medical uniform influences patients' psychology and even curative effects, related with both doctors and patients' health. It's necessary to introduce humanized design concepts into the medical uniform design, and put forward a set of medical uniform design standards and principles to achieve dress status of most comfortable, healthy, safety and efficient, this has a far-reaching meaning.Ergonomic has made a deep research on visual monitor, including character symbols, graphic symbols, graphic logos, etc, and has widely applied. As for clothing symbol and indicative mark there are little researchers study from the view of ergonomic, this paper introduce symbol design theory and data about recognition, familiarity, distance under high and low brightness background ,combined with health care environment, proposes factors and principles that should be taken in to account in medical uniform symbol design. This paper is divided into four parts. First, proposing contents and meaning through investigating the existing shortage of medical uniform with questionnaire survey and interview; Second, summarizing the relevant theory, including ergonomics, clothing hygiene, clothing ergonomics and value engineering, putting forward the functional needs of medical uniform; Third, combined with the human body static, dynamic physiological data, psychological factors, work characteristics and health care environment analysis, putting forward the principles and methods of medical uniform design; Fourth, bringing forward the design scheme with the human-oriented design principles and specific departments as a guide.Humanized concept can be applied to medical uniform design and other business uniforms and clothing design. To abandon the pure pursuit of aesthetics and even oddity design ideas, considering clothing practicality from human-clothing-environment system. Hoping this research can attract more people to exceed the reality with criticism spirit, to improve our lives quality, to implement human-oriented philosophy.
