Coal resources is very rich overall in China, but its distribution is extremely unreasonable, furthermore, high-quality coal resources for cokemaking is less, fat coal and coking coal in coal for cokemaking mostly contain higher ash content and sulfur content. These problems seriously restrict our national development of coking and iron and steel enterprises, therefore, we must expand coal resources for cokemaking. In China gas coal reserve largely and distribute widely. Using the method of stamping coke, we can use more poor coking capacity coals such as gas coal, lean coal and so on. It will not only solve the shortage of coal resources for cokemaking, but also will produce high-quality coke, and then promote sustainable development of coking industry.Huangling gas coal is a young gas coal, and its reserve is substantial, so it has good application prospect. Through analysis of Huangling gas coal property, it has been found that it has the following characteristics: low ash content, low sulfur content, higher volatile content, medium caking property, larger contraction and preferably coking capacity, it can be used to blend and to coke.Based on the using of coal of Wuhan Iron and Steel Company, this experiment adds Huangling gas coal gradually in order to replace the part of gas fat coal and 1/3 coking coal for coking. The results of conventional coking show that coke thermal performance is impacted more greatly by the ratio of Huangling gas coal, however other properties of coke have smaller fluctuation, but when Huangling gas coal ratio is less than 15 percent, the reactivity and strength after reaction of coke is more relatively stable. The results of stamping cokemaking experiment show that the bulk density of charged coal has a significant impact on every index of the coke quality, and appropriate bulk density is 1.1t/m3. In the situation of bulk density is 1.1t/m3, with Huangling gas coal ratio increasing (coking coal is reducing corresponding in the while), the quality of coke decline, but the quality of coke is still able to maintain well when Huangling gas coal ratio reach 20%. Adding coke breeze only has a positive impact on crushing strength, but it has an adverse impact on ash content, sulfur content and abrasive strength, especially it makes thermal performance of coke become very poor, so the amount of coke breeze should be used very carefully.
