China’s coal resources are relatively abundant, however coking coal only accountedfor27%of the whole, of which the high qualified coking coal and fat coal wih low-sulfurand low-ash are more expensive. Tamping coking technology can help to blended inmore low-sulfur, low-ash coal with weak adhesion, which can reduce costs and improvethe quality of coke, therefore we should fully develop tamping coking technology.In this study, a40kg pilot coke oven is used to simulate the tamping cokingtechnology, and analyze the impace of law of the material properties in Xuyang coalchemical company on coal quality, in order to discover the relation of single species ofcoal properties on coke quality and the impact of the law. Select seven single species ofcoal, by adjusting the distribution into different coal ratio, we could optimize a suitableblending ratio. The best proportion should be12%Junteng gas coal blending ratio withLongmei1/3coking coal20%, Shanjiao fat coal15%, Shen Jiazhuang coking coal15%,Shanjiao coke coking coal11%, Luliang coking coal sulfur14%, and Wu Lihou leancoke13%. It can be concluded that coal-derived pyrite can help to curb the solution lossreaction of coke, when the weak adhesion coal remains constant, more lean coal withweak adhesion can produce tamping coke with better quality.Coke fines are put in the40kg pilot coke oven in order to replace part of the leancoke in the tramping coke experiment. This is to explore the impact of law of theproportion of coke fines on coke quality. With the increae of coke fines proportion, thesize of coke increases, and coke mechanical strength has increased then decreasedslightly, but the thermal properties of coke degradation are more obvious. Through theoptical texture value of coke, it is determined and found that with the amount of cokefines increasing, coke in low reaction of the anisotropic component proportion will bereduced, and through the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of themicrostructure of the coke, we deduce that the aperture of coke porosity narrows, butcrack increases significantly.
