Formal dress is one kind of etiquette clothing, whose design demand shows dignity, position , qualities and accomplishment being penetrating person. Therefore, the pick of formal dress's material, physical design and handicraft fabrication are particularly required.Three-dimensional clipping technology is an important part of handicraft fabrication of formal dress. In curve form and space structure aspect, the body tailors therefore have an incomparable advantage in handling clothing to flat tailors. Since our country is always to use a flat surface so far tailor give first place to, in addition, lots of restriction factors such as tool, materials and so on. As a result, the development of body tailors'technology is lagged in our country. Nowadays, flat tailors already have had no way to adapt to formal dress industry, since the high-grade requirements in technology and individuality. Therefore, reinforce development in body tailor technology appeared to be especially urgent.In this subject, author, by collecting various kinds of models in domestic or aboard, divided formal dress into four resemble: tight, fold ornaments, flowers and repeated material design. Except that, the author also respectively carried out an analytical comparison on formal dress of all kinds aspect such as position, structure of the model and so on. Furthermore, the author, on the basis of the analytical comparison, carried out the experiment analysis for some specifically styles having representativeness. At the same time, he also probed the process, the principles, technical skill artifice of the three-dimensional structure and various influencing factors.
