Since the start of the 1970s environmental monitoring, on the whole, China's environment has been in a state of deterioration process. Although during this period, especially since the 1990s, there has also been some partial improvement, but these hard-won environmental and ecological improvement largely confined to local areas or in certain specific areas. China's industrialization and urbanization process are accelerated in the rapid development of the economy, but to the environment it is a heavy burden.Wuxi is not only a more developed city in the Yangtze River Delta, but also belong to a wide range of industrial city, city's economic development is diversed, with more serious environmental pollution problems surfaced in the past few years. According to Wuxi to identify the characteristics of its industrial structure and reduce environmental pollution programme,at the same time Wuxi maintains the current economic development situation, the sustainable development of Wuxi has an important strategic significance.
