This thesis investigates through the case designs and analysis of the National high-tech research development plan: color design. Based on the discoveries and insights from the former studies of the project, this thesis presents an color revise mechanism of CBID (Case-Based Industrial Design) system. The development of system is based on product case.Color is "the first vision" of human, and it has the important media function of transmitting information in the process of consumer's cognizing products. There has been mainly presented two kinds of modes in the domain of researching color design internationally and domestically, one is the method of color image scale which based on consumers' cognitive psychology of products color; and the other is the evolution of beauty harmony which come from the theory of Moon- Spencer color congruity. As a new conception, color research based on CBID system combined advantage of the two methods, and assist consumer to go along with effective color design. CBID was an effective settlement on the problem of color design of CNC machine tools. This kind of implementary mechanism provides a effective solution towards other systems.Based on the cooperation with CNC companies and the research on color design in ICAID system, this thesis starts on the practical requirement of user and system orientation, and construct a typical ID case base resource on color design of CNC equipment. On the base the retrieve and accumulate of design knowledge was realized, and also the addition of designed cases and the extension of "ICAID system based on knowledge" was realized. Finally, this thesis discusses the probability of system maintenance and expandability.
