Jiuduansha is a neonatal estuary wetland and its nature ecosystem is infrequent not only at home but also overseas. It offers technology support to the scientific utilization of Jiuduansha wetland nature reserve to establish the Jiuduansha wetland nature reserve geographic information system.Aiming at the requirement for geographic information of the Jiuduansha wetland nature reserve management and the characteristic of Jiuduansha wetland, the Jiuduansha wetland nature reserve geographic information system and the database is established. The remote sensing datum, map datum, photo datum, document datum, DEM, and meta-data are included in the database. Except for the basic GIS functions, data management module, special data displaying module, elevation analysis module, evolvement analysis module, correlation analysis module are also developed to realize general datum management and spatial analysis functions. This paper makes a research on Jiuduansha wetland geographic information system from the aspects of the demand analysis and design of the system, the establishment of system database, the research on wetland spatial analysis models and the function development of the system.Seven chapters are included in this paper. Chapter one is preface. In this chapter, the background of title selection and significance of the research are introduced. The evolvement of the research on wetland geographic information system both at home and overseas is also analyzed. Then the study objective and contents of this paper are also introduced. The basic condition of Jiuduansha wetland nature reserve is introduced in the second chapter. It is divided into five parts of the location, bound and regional classification by wetland function, evolvement, the physical geography characteristic, the ecological value, the present condition of reserve and utilization. The third chapter illustrates the system overall design. System requirement analysis, system development platform, system running framework, the design of function models are introduced. The fourth chapter introduces the establishment of the system database. The datum includes remote sensing datum, map datum, photo datum, document datum, DEM, and meta-data. It illustrated from the aspects of datum preprocessing, datum storage. The fifth chapter introduces the development of Jiuduansha wetland geographic information system.
