Abstract/Summary:
The environment pollution and the waste of resources caused by solid waste especially hazardous waste is one of the major problems in environment protection and resource conservation in the whole world. The level of the solid waste management in china is lower than that in other developed countries. There are many problems in the solid waste management system. Compared with other developed countries, our solid waste management is still at a relative low level stage. The problem also exists in Guangdong. How to use the information technology to improve solid waste management has become a social hot issue. This paper chooses Guangdong as the study area, and designs the waste information system based on WebGIS. Content is as follows:1) System architecture and construction.2) The integration and applied research of WebGIS technology in the system. Describe the basic applications and deep application of WebGIS in the system and then analysis its impact on solid waste management.3) Implementation of key technologies and research results are displayed. This paper introduces the key technologies such as ArcIMS, ARCSDE, Struts and Web Services, analyses the integration of applications, and then shows research results.The study will boost the solid waste management reform, and improve its management level and efficiency. It is helpful for other environmental management information system, and it can also be used as a good example in the national implementation.
