| The function of packing design has changed. It was first for just protection and transportation, but now it has become brands carrier at marketing age. Packing design is a very important element of visual communication design. It is not just a wrap-up anymore. It has developed to be a key factor in marketing and brands life. Packing design also creates brands symbol.Chinese sportswear brands experienced a fast evolution after China's reforming and opening. But China still has no real international brands. The competence of Chinese brand is very weak. Chinese sportswear market faces a booming opportunity now. it is also a golden time for brand building and developing. Dedicated to every detail is the key to improve the effect of fashion brands. Packing design is playing a more and more essential role in the branding field.My thesis starts with the concept of visual communication design of packing and focuses on graphic design. The primary contents include brands effect;the improvement effect for brands from packing;special situation of Chinese sportswear brands;packing analysis between Chinese and foreign brands. Then I educed my original principles of visual communication design on Chinese sportswear brands from three aspects: Colour, Letters and Pattern. The principles come from the theory of visual communication design, brands effect and speciality of sportswear brands.I carried my rule out with CAD software and got a good market feedback.
