In this study, the xlym of natural Ceratoides lanata were sdutied ,which were collected from the different ecotypes in the eight states of North America. They are Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, California. The water physiological structure of the xylem were measured, include the natural drying density, 60℃dry density, 105℃dry density, storage water weight, bound water capacity, moisture absorption capacity, the xylem density and the weight of free water reservoir. On the basis of analyzing the relations between the water physiological structure with ecological factors, discussed the adaptation of the water physiological structure of xylem in its ecological. The results showed that:Statistical analysis indicated that, in different ecological environments, the difference was extremely significant on the natural drying density, 60℃dry density, 105℃dry density, storage water weight, bound water capacity, moisture absorption capacity; while the difference was not significant on the xylem density and the weight of free water reservoir. Duing to the impact of habitat conditions, the water physiological structure are all shown great differences in the long-term evolution,.Correlation analysis showed that the water physical structure of Ceratoides lanata and ecological factors are closely related. The water physical structure is a combination of several ecological factors formed, The water and temperature conditions play a important role, while other ecological factors affect this particular structure formation by ecological factors, for example latitude and altitude.
