Geographic information system (GIS) is a new technology with computer technology, database management, and computer graphics. With GIS, we can easily realize information maps and data visualization. Since 90's,20th century, GIS applications, which has been rapid developmented, has spread to land management, urban transport, post and telecommunications and other areas.With the development of communication technology, the management of resources on the telecommunications lines put forward higher requirements, the voice of modern management more and more. Telecommunication line resource query is difficult to manage difficult and hard to maintain a current hot topic. Telecommunications lines to achieve automation and intelligent resource management is the rapid development of telecommunication services to one of the keys. Telecommunication networks increase in complexity and the need for automated management of the urgent need for advanced network management on different types of telecommunications networks, equipment and services for effective management.First, the thesis for the study communication networks, through the communications pipeline resource management system research and analysis, combined with GIS design concepts proposed GIS model of communication pipeline resources. Complete description of the model lines of communication resource system, while achieving the equipment resources to the GIS layers and business network to the GIS map of the double mapping, GIS and MIS model will effectively combine together to optimize the system design.Second, relying on the optical fiber line monitoring system, cable network management based on practical problems encountered in the communication pipeline resources GIS models based on GIS platform on the cable network needs analysis and a summary of the design. Select the open source uDig, GeoServer as GIS platform, using OpenLayer kit design and implementation of fiber-optic network GIS platform.The communication lines of the GIS and integrated resource management, proposed GIS model of the communication pipeline resources, improved management of GIS resources in the communication pipeline engineering design methods, use of open source GIS software and platform, designed and implemented a fiber-optic network GIS platform.
